The purpose of this project was to continue learning to use a new camera while also becoming more aware of all the little details and changes around me. The images here are almost exclusively of perennials and wildflowers within a mile of my house. By walking around my neighborhood each day, I learned so much about which flowers bloom when, which ones close up at night, how long the blossoms last, and more.
I have always loved taking walks, whether with my children or alone. One or all of my kids were present while I took most of these photos. We enjoyed discovering all the flourishing gardens and boulevards together.
